This was necessary to maximise the performance based on very limited resources. In recent times with generous resources, it is convenient software programmers to ignore the hardware and focus exclusively on features. This can result in hardware-based performance problems that avoid detection unless explicitly searched for. While premature optimisation should be avoided, there are some basic performance pitfalls that should be avoided at every stage of development. This talk is a refresher on some basic hardware topics as a means to avoiding hardware-orientated performance problems before the happen. === Sean Blanchfield (DemonWare) - A technical history of DemonWare === Who: Sean Blanchfield - [http://www.demonware.net/ DemonWare] What: A technical history of DemonWare === Christian van den Bosch - Retro cryptography === Who: [http://cjb.ie/ Christian van den Bosch] What: Retro Cryptography
